Aircraft detailing products from San Diego, California, with a Cirrus SR22 guide

About Fly Shiny

Fly Shiny is an aircraft detailing products company based in San Diego, California. It makes cleaners, aluminum polishes, paint polishes, spray waxes and ceramic coatings formulated for aircraft rather than adapted from automotive products, and sells them online to pilots, aircraft detailers, FBOs and flight schools. The company describes its products as engineered in the USA and its team as having more than 50 years of combined aviation experience.

The range is organised by job: post-flight cleaning, brightwork polishing, paint restoration and protection, and concentrate systems for fleets.

  • Cleaners: Quick Turn waterless dry wash (ready to use, and a 32 oz concentrate that makes 160 gallons or more), Bug Blitz enzyme-based insect remover, Carbon Blitz exhaust and soot cleaner, and Oil Delete citrus-based degreaser for oil, grease and hydraulic fluid.
  • Brightwork: Top Cut heavy-cut, Striker medium-cut and Reflection fine aluminum polishes, Maverick sprayable aluminum polish and a One-Step Brightwork Combo.
  • Paint care: Polish Pro fine-cut paint polish for swirls and water spots, Static Guard antistatic carnauba spray wax for composite and painted surfaces, Air Guard ceramic spray sealant and Pro Ceramic Coating, a 9H SiO2 coating.
  • Kits: Good, Better and Best restoration kits built around Polish Pro, the Pro Concentrate Cleaning System, the Complete Aircraft Care System and the Complete Aircraft Detailing Pro System for FBOs, flight schools and professional detailers.

Products are sold through the company's own online store, Amazon and TikTok Shop. The site also hosts demo videos and model-specific cleaning guides for aircraft such as the Pilatus PC-12, King Air and Gulfstream G550.

Cirrus

Fly Shiny publishes a dry wash guide for the Cirrus SR22 and another for the Cirrus Vision Jet SF50. The SR22 guide describes the composite airframe, clear-coated paint, acrylic windows and fixed gear with wheel pants, and sets out the order of work the company uses: Oil Delete on the belly, Carbon Blitz for exhaust soot, Bug Blitz on leading edges, wheel pants, flaps and windows, Quick Turn dry wash over the whole airframe, then Static Guard anti-static wax every three to six months. The company says its team has cleaned more than 1,000 SR22s working alongside a maintenance shop in San Diego. The guide covers cleaning and wax protection of the SR22.
