About Flightline Aviation

Flightline Aviation Media is an aviation photography business run by Bruce Leibowitz. The site holds hundreds of photos taken over nearly two decades. The subjects are commercial airliners, general aviation, military aircraft and air show performers. The site also offers to cover images for businesses and air shows.

The photographer says he has loved aviation since his first airliner ride as a child. He began to share pictures online in the late 1990s. In 2002 he found there was a market for aviation images. He then grew his equipment and experience. His subjects are aircraft and the people who build, maintain and fly them, along with the view from above.

Most of his pictures are on airliners.net, jetphotos.net and Flickr. The site says the digital images can be used for commercial, media and personal needs. An Aviation Photography page gives more detail. A partial list of clients he has produced images for appears on the site.

The Planespotting Guide is a main feature. The first version came out in 2003. It helps visitors learn to identify different types of commercial aircraft at their local airport. The new version has an updated style and adds details on newer airliners that visitors may see.

Another section covers where to watch planes. The site notes that most airports in the United States no longer have indoor observation decks open to all. Many have outdoor areas for planespotters. The guide gives details on good areas at airports the photographer has visited, with maps, directions and sample photos. It also links to sites where visitors can listen to air traffic control and track flights live.

The site went online in its present form in 2011. A complete redesign began in 2020 and took more than a year. Some photo galleries use the new style and others still use the old style. The new design is easier to use on phones.

A blog section posts articles on aircraft types picked from the photo collection. The website also lists social media links so visitors can follow new content.
