About FeatherDyn

FeatherDyn is an Indian drone company that designs and builds unmanned aerial vehicles, or UAVs, and the systems that support them. It was incorporated in March 2018. The company is based at Maker Village, a start-up space backed by the Indian government's MeitY and by Kerala Startup Mission. The site says it has seven skilled staff.

Its main product is a semi-autonomous, fixed-wing UAV that takes off and lands vertically. It is made for long distances and long flight times. It carries navigation, communication and sensor systems, and the company says no trained pilot is needed. It also says the design keeps running costs low and was proven in successful test flights of its prototype.

The company lists many uses for the aircraft. These include pipeline inspection, medical logistics, border surveillance, industrial asset monitoring, railway track inspection and highway surveillance. Other uses are disaster management, search and rescue, forest monitoring and maritime logistics. The company also names emergency delivery and utility monitoring.

The team has more than ten years of combined work in engineering, research and development. The core members come from IISc Bangalore, IIT Madras and IIST Trivandrum. The company says it has had mentoring from scientists and engineers at National Aerospace Laboratories, ISRO and Axiom Research Labs, also known as Team Indus.

The site says the focus is on home-grown design and development. It shows a section for press features and affiliations, and it has a contact form.
