Engine Alliance

Engine Alliance is a joint venture of General Electric and Pratt and Whitney. It builds and supports the GP7200 engine for the Airbus A380. The site says the company was formed with one goal: to power the Airbus A380.

The site says the company has changed its focus. It now puts its network of suppliers, overhaul partners and field service teams at the core of the business. The site describes field service teams in more than 100 cities worldwide.

The company says it uses expertise from partner companies MTU Aero Engines, Snecma (Safran) and Techspace Aero (Safran). It says it also uses technology from GE and Pratt and Whitney. The site describes the GP7200 as a durable engine with a joint global support network.

The site lists Etihad, Qatar, Korean Air and Emirates among the operators shown on its home page. It says the engine's service network covers the world's A380 fleet.

Gaston Persano was named president in June 2024. He worked at Ford before joining United Technologies and then Pratt and Whitney's commercial engines aftermarket business. David Lewis is listed as chief financial officer. A November 2023 news item says Engine Alliance and MTU Maintenance Lease Services formed a strategic partnership to manage GP lease pool assets. A May 2023 item says Engine Alliance selected CTS Engines to provide MRO engine services for the GP7200.
