About EME Aero

EME Aero is an engine maintenance company in Poland's aviation region around Rzeszow. It is a joint venture of Lufthansa Technik and MTU Aero Engines. The company runs a maintenance, repair and overhaul center, called MRO, for GTF jet engines of the PW1000G series.

The company says it is one of the largest and most modern MRO centers in the world for these engines. It is part of the global Pratt and Whitney GTF engine service network. Its work covers servicing, repair and inspection of the newest commercial aircraft engines.

The company handles three geared turbofan engine types. A geared turbofan uses a gear to let the fan and the turbine spin at different speeds. The three types are the PW1100G-JM, the PW1500G and the PW1900G. The company says this gear marks a basic change in commercial engine technology.

The PW1100G-JM powers the newest Airbus A320neo narrowbody aircraft. It entered service in 2016. The PW1500G powers the Airbus A220 and also entered service in 2016. The PW1900G powers the Embraer E190-E2 and E195-E2 and entered service in 2018.

The first PW1500G engine left the EME Aero service plant in April 2022. This made the plant the fourth in the world to service that engine type. The company says its center supports the growth of the Pratt and Whitney engine service network.

EME Aero plans to be one of the largest employers in the Aviation Valley region. It says it wants to be one of the most modern MRO centers in the world. Its news section covers a new test cell, which the site calls an important investment for the region. It also covers a new aviation mural in Rzeszow made with a local school.

The website has a careers section for people who want to work in the engine service center. It also has news, details of the engines it supports and a contact page for customers and partners.
