The company was launched in early 2016 under Manuel E. Cordero, a veteran of aircraft leasing and airlines. The name Cusco comes from Customized Services Company.

His past work includes aircraft purchase and leasing projects, fleet transitions and heavy maintenance management.

Cusco is linked to T3Tech, an aviation technical services alliance that supports airlines and lessors. Cordero is its chief executive, and Guedez is its senior vice president of operations. The Cusco site calls T3Tech its technical services group and points visitors there for technical needs.
