About Copter Club

Copter Club is a helicopter flight school in Perpignan, in the Pyrénées-Orientales department of southern France. The school says it is the only helicopter pilot school in the department, and it trains students from across France. Theory is taught by e-learning, while practical training takes place in person at Perpignan.

Training

  • PPL-H private pilot licence, open from age 17
  • Robinson R44 type rating
  • CPL-H commercial pilot licence, theory and practical parts
  • Conversion of an ICAO licence to an EASA licence
  • Mountain course and confined-area rating

Instructors hold FI-H certification and are approved by civil aviation, and each student receives personal follow-up of progress. The school says it can help students find accommodation in Perpignan and reports a 100 percent pass rate for candidates presented for the PPL-H, CPL-H and type rating exams.

Flights and rental

Beyond training, Copter Club offers an introduction to piloting, a pilot-for-a-day experience, tourist flights and helicopter rental. Routes cover the Mediterranean coast, the Pyrenees and the Catalan hinterland. The school notes that favourable weather and light airspace traffic allow flights to be scheduled year-round. Its introduction to piloting is listed from 249 euros.

Fleet

The school flies the Robinson R44 and the AS350 B3, both described as maintained to strict standards.
