Composites Busch

Composites Busch designs and makes high-performance composite parts and 3D printed parts from its base in Porrentruy, Switzerland.

The company has worked with composite materials for over thirty years. Its history goes back to 1988, when the Busch group placed a newspaper advert looking for a pioneer in composite materials. Since then it has built engineering and production skills for demanding markets.

It serves four main sectors. These are medtech, watchmaking and luxury, aerospace and mobility, and general industry. For aerospace and mobility, it makes materials for parts that need to be strong and light. In watchmaking, it supplies composite materials for fine timepieces, and it has taken part in the EPHJ trade show. A Deloitte study on the Swiss watch industry also featured the company.

The company has four areas of expertise. Engineering covers the design of materials and solutions that fit a customer's needs. Composites manufacturing combines skilled people with precise machines to shape composite materials into finished forms. Additive manufacturing offers flexible shapes and surfaces at a sensible cost. Quality management and assurance covers process control, risk management and conformity checks.

The company works closely with customers. It tries to understand their needs first, builds solutions with them, and keeps quality in check through the whole process. It also shares its carbon expertise, from raw material to finished product.
