About Cape Air

Cape Air is a regional airline based in the United States. It flies small aircraft on short routes. The company says it serves over 30 destinations. These include places in the Northeast, Cape Cod and the Islands, Eastern Montana, Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands and the British Virgin Islands. It also flies to Anguilla, St. Barths, St. Kitts and Nevis. The company says it was born out of a passion for aviation. It aims to get passengers where they want to go quickly and easily.

The airline began with a first flight between Boston and Provincetown in 1989. Soon after, it added Hyannis, Nantucket, New Bedford, Martha's Vineyard and Providence. It later built hubs at Boston Logan International Airport and JFK in New York.

Its route history reaches further. From 1993 to 2013 it flew between South Florida and the Keys. Its Caribbean service started in 1998. From 2004 to 2018 it served Micronesia with two ATR-42 aircraft.

The fleet includes the Cessna 402. In September 2019, Cape Air added a new type, the Tecnam P2012 Traveller. The company describes it as the newest type in its fleet.

The site lists many local services. There is year-round service between Provincetown and Boston, with nonstop winter flights. In Eastern Montana, flights link five cities with Billings. In the Caribbean, flights connect St. Thomas with St. Croix, St. Kitts and Nevis, Anguilla, Virgin Gorda and St. Barths. Flights between St. Thomas and St. Barths run daily all year.

Cape Air also works with other airlines so passengers can connect to further trips. It has a commuter booking option that needs a valid coupon for each passenger. Special needs, such as pets, service animals and unaccompanied minors aged 8 to 14, are handled by phone.

The airline hires pilots, including captains and first officers. It also lists Gateway Program roles. The website has an interactive route map, travel alerts, online booking and a feedback form.
