About Cal-Ore Life Flight

Cal-Ore Life Flight is an emergency air and ground medical transport service headquartered in Brookings, Oregon. It offers 24/7 advanced life support transport to destinations throughout Oregon, California and bordering states. The company is part of the Global Medical Response family.

The fleet is built around Beechcraft King Air jet prop airplanes. They are twin engine, pressurized and all weather aircraft, able to fly at speeds approaching 290 mph. The company has one King Air 200 and six King Air C90-B aircraft. Each aircraft is set up as a portable intensive care unit.

The company also flies an AS350 helicopter, operated together with Reach Air Medical. The AS350 can keep its performance from sea level up to 9,000 feet, and it has a four passenger capacity. Patients are moved with the LifePort loading system, which slides a loading ramp into the aircraft cabin.

Each aircraft carries advanced life support equipment, including a cardiac monitor and defibrillator, a ventilator, IV pumps and suction. The flight crews receive 50 hours of continuing education each year. Topics include flight safety, advanced cardiac life support, trauma and high risk obstetrics.

Cal-Ore says it understands the challenges of living in a rural area. Emergency services are open to anyone who needs them, with or without membership in the AirMedCare Network. On the ground, Cal-Ore runs twelve advanced life support ambulances and is the exclusive 911 provider for Curry County, Oregon.

The company also offers non-emergency medical transport in wheelchair and stretcher vans for medical appointments and trips home from hospital. Its fixed base operation at Crescent City Airport in California sells Jet A and Avgas fuel. Cal-Ore has been accredited by CAMTS since 2007, and it keeps a mass casualty unit that can treat up to 200 patients.
