About Barossa Helicopters
Barossa Helicopters is a family owned and operated helicopter company. It is based on the Kies family farm at Lyndoch, in South Australia's Barossa Valley. The property covers 400 acres of vineyard and farmland, with a long history of grape growing. The family added helicopters to the farm in the mid 1980s. The business now flies scenic tours, food and wine experiences, private charters, transfers and aerial work across South Australia. The company also sends monthly updates to subscribers and lists events on its website.
Scenic tours fly over the Barossa Valley. Food and wine experiences take guests to local wineries. Outback pub adventures visit country pubs by air. Wellness escapes pair helicopter flights with relaxing destinations. Luxe experiences fly guests from the Barossa to Kangaroo Island, the Eyre Peninsula and the Adelaide Hills.
Special occasion flights cover proposals, gender reveals, birthdays and milestone celebrations. Transfers fly guests between Adelaide Airport and the Barossa. The company can also collect guests from their accommodation and return them there. Regional transfers are offered across South Australia. Corporate, conference group, wedding and general charters are also available. The website also has a transfers page for airport and accommodation pick ups.
Aerial work includes aerial filming and photography. Survey work covers environmental, mining and infrastructure projects, as well as wildlife surveys and spotting. Other work includes aerial culling, sling load work, geological sampling support and property inspections. Property inspections can include work over water with float equipped aircraft. Drone and aerial agriculture services are offered through local partner businesses.
The fleet includes four Robinson R44 helicopters, each with three passenger seats. It also includes one Airbus AS350 Squirrel, which seats five passengers. The company says its in-house maintenance facility is approved for its own aircraft. The office is open seven days a week from 10 am to 4 pm. It closes on Good Friday and Christmas Day. Gift cards are sold on the website. The company's fleet page lists each helicopter and its use.
