Baltic Seaplane GmbH

Baltic Seaplane GmbH is a seaplane flight school and air operator based at Flensburg-Schaeferhaus airfield in northern Germany. It trains pilots for seaplane ratings and flies sightseeing and trial flights along the Baltic Sea coast and the Mecklenburg Lake District. The company says it is the only active company in Germany offering sightseeing flights by seaplane.

Training

• SEP (Sea) seaplane class rating: acquire, extend or renew. Minimum 8 flying hours plus a skill test, planned over about one week. Needs a valid PPL(A), LAPL(A), CPL(A) or ATPL(A)
• SET (Sea) training on the Cessna Caravan 208 Amphibian for pilots, operators and companies setting up open-water seaplane operations
• SEP (Land) revalidation flown in a seaplane
• Introductory flights for pilots who want to try water flying first
• Structured EASA seaplane programme for pilots from Thailand, run with partner Thai Seaplane

Flights for guests

• Sightseeing flights all year round from Flensburg, Plau am See and Heringsdorf, plus event dates such as Muritz Sail and the Stralsund harbour festival
• Trial flights where guests take the controls with an instructor, no licence needed
