About Astrobotic

Astrobotic is a space company based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The site says it was founded in 2007 and now has more than 130 employees. It builds and runs spacecraft, landers and rovers at its headquarters, which it calls its Moon Base.

The company works on lunar landers, rovers and surface power. It also works on spacecraft navigation, machine vision and hazard detection sensors that use machine learning. The site says it holds more than 60 NASA, Department of Defense and commercial contracts worth over 600 million dollars.

The homepage features Griffin-1, a mission scheduled to land at Nobile Crater near the lunar South Pole. The site says an Astrolab FLIP rover has been added to the mission. The Griffin lander is described as having five times the carrying capacity of the earlier Peregrine lander. It can carry larger payloads, such as rovers the size of a compact car.

Other products are also shown. Xodiac is a reusable rocket lander used to test payloads, with more than 600 successful flights. CubeRover is a small lunar vehicle with standard sizes. MoonBox capsules carry small items to the Moon.

The company's 47,000 square foot complex is described as the largest private facility for lunar logistics. Missions are run from its Mission Control Center. The contact page has a form with topics such as payload customer, MoonBox, sponsorship, investor and government.
