Anglian Flight Centres

Anglian Flight Centres is a flying school and club at Earls Colne Airfield in Essex, England. It trains private pilots, hires aircraft to qualified pilots and runs trial flights and warbird experiences. The club house has a warm, welcoming atmosphere, with tea and coffee for pilots and students.

Training

• Private Pilot Licence (PPL): a minimum of 45 hours, at least 10 of them solo, following an internationally recognised syllabus
• National Private Pilot Licence (NPPL)
• Night rating
• IMC rating (Instrument Meteorological Conditions)
• CB-IR (competency based instrument rating) training
• Aerobatics training

Many members have gone on to advanced training and then into professional flying as instructors or airline pilots.

Aircraft

The fleet is available for training, conversion training and private pilot hire:

• G-ECAC Alpha A120T, 2 seats, Mode S transponder
• G-ECAF, G-ECAG, G-ECAP and G-ECAR Robin HR200, 2 seats
• G-ECAK Cessna 172, 4 seats, Aspen EFD1000 EFIS, Garmin GTN650 and Mode S transponder
• G-ECAY, 4 seats, two Garmin G5 displays, GTN 650xi and GFC 500 autopilot
• Harvard AT6 IIA, a 1942 WW2 fighter trainer, 2 seats

Harvard experiences

The 1942 AT-6 Harvard IIA also served with the South African and Portuguese air forces. It is flown by chief pilot Nigel Willson. Experience flights run from 60 minutes (from £390) to the Wartime Airfields and White Cliffs of Dover flights.
