About All Nippon Helicopter Co.

All Nippon Helicopter Co., Ltd. (ANH) is a helicopter company in Tokyo. Its flying is dedicated to news and programme work for NHK, Japan's public broadcaster. The company's concept is to report Japan from the air. Its head office and Tokyo base are at Tokyo Heliport in Koto Ward, Tokyo.

ANH crews cover disasters, incidents and accidents for news reports. They also shoot aerial footage for documentaries and other programmes. The helicopters carry the latest anti vibration camera systems. The company says it supports NHK from the air.

ANH operates four helicopter types: the AW139, H160, AS365 and EC135. Its maintenance is carried out by engineers trained on these types. The company also publishes an annual safety report on its website. Its bases stand ready for dispatch across the country.

ANH keeps ten resident bases across Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa, and three outposts. The bases are Tokyo, Sapporo, Sendai, Niigata, Shizuoka, Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima, Fukuoka and Okinawa. The outposts are Gunma, Takamatsu and Kagoshima. The Sapporo base has a new hangar, completed in March 2023.

Safety is the company's first principle. ANH has a safety promotion office inside the company, which carries out daily operational checks. Flights are monitored from the Tokyo head office through a data network. Aircraft position, speed and altitude are tracked through satellite phone links.

Its network reaches from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south, so it can report events across the country. Visitors can reach the Tokyo base by bus from Shin Kiba Station, about seven minutes away. The company's website also has a recruitment page, which was added in February 2025.
