About AIROD Aerospace Technology

AIROD Aerospace Technology is an aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul company at Subang Airport in Selangor, Malaysia. It is a subsidiary of AIROD. The company says it brings 25 years of experience and approvals from a number of aviation authorities. Frost and Sullivan recognised it as Asia Pacific Customised MRO Centre of the Year.

The main services are airframe maintenance, aircraft painting, cargo conversion, support shops and field support. Airframe work covers flight line, second line and depot level maintenance, major inspections, drop-in maintenance and recovery of crash-damaged aircraft. The paint shop does strip and paint jobs, from simple repaints to detailed custom schemes. It reports more than 500 projects in the region and uses a Base Coat Clear Coat method.

The company says it was the first cargo conversion centre in South East Asia. It offers aircraft modification and maintenance and has delivered conversion projects. Its support shops work in sheet metal, fiberglass, composites, paint and non-destructive testing. A modification and major repair team handles jobs from in-flight entertainment systems to structural repairs. It also fits connectivity systems such as WQAR, FlightLink, Satcom and EFB, and carries out cabin refurbishments and retrofits.

The main aircraft are the Boeing 737 Classic and NG, the Airbus A320 family and the ATR 42 and 72 series. The company has tools, test equipment, engine stands and ground support equipment for these types. A field team offers AOG and temporary station support around the clock for the same fleets.

AIROD Aerospace Technology began work in 2012 as a commercial MRO, as part of an expansion plan by National Aerospace Defence Industries. Its managers and technical staff have an average of 25 years in airline and MRO work. It describes itself as an independent MRO that offers competitive labour rates and fast turn-around times. The base is Hangar 77 at the AIROD Complex on Jalan Lapangan Terbang Subang. The website lists a phone number and a downloadable brochure.
