AIRE (Aire Aviation)

AIRE is an independent Spanish company that provides engineering, maintenance and production services for aircraft cabin interiors. It was founded in February 2000 and is based in Coslada, Madrid. The company is part of the AVIACTION group. It describes its approach as nose to tail cabin interior support, so an airline can use one organization from design through to maintenance.

Approvals

AIRE states that it is one of few companies certified by EASA in three ways at once:

• Part 21J design organization, for minor modifications and repairs
• Part 21G production organization (POA ES.21G.020)
• Part 145 maintenance organization

Production

The production team makes soft goods for airlines and leasing companies from its plant in Madrid. Materials are chosen to meet FAA and EASA rules on fire, toxicity and smoke. Products include:

• Leather and fabric seat covers
• Curtains for galleys, class dividers and crew rests, including pleated and sound absorbing types
• Laminated fabric covers
• Baby bassinet bags and life vest bags
• Headrest covers
• Interior and exterior placards and markings
• 9G seat cushions

Covers can be embossed, embroidered, stitched or printed with an airline logo.

Engineering and maintenance

The Part 21J office handles minor modifications and repairs to the aircraft and its components. The Part 145 division looks after the appearance of the cabin, with line maintenance support and shop maintenance of components. The portfolio runs from minor maintenance to complete cabin management, from repair of defective parts to material supply, and from small changes to a full cabin reconfiguration.

Project example

In January 2024 the company worked with a sister company on a Boeing 757 that needed repairs after a tail strike. Seats and closets were removed in two days, inspected against the seat manuals, and issued with EASA Form 1 for installation in another aircraft.
