Aircraft Support Industries
Custom-designed aircraft maintenance facilities for airlines and MROs in Singapore
About Aircraft Support Industries
Aircraft Support Industries, known as ASI, designs and builds aircraft maintenance facilities. It helps airlines and MRO providers with hangars, docking systems and related equipment. The company says it was incorporated in 1987 and has delivered over 100 hangars around the globe. Phone numbers on the site include one from Singapore, +65 6337 3160.
ASI started with the design of maintenance docking systems. Because docks and hangars depend on each other, it moved into hangar planning and design, and later into full services from start to finish. Its in-house skills include facility planning, structural, mechanical and electrical engineering, and fire suppression.
The product list has four parts. Aircraft hangars of all types are one. Docking systems that provide work platforms for maintenance are another. The third is specialised equipment such as cranes, teleplatforms, wheel retraction pits, service pits and hangar doors. The fourth is large span structures, which are not limited to aviation. Facilities built so far range from shelters for military aircraft to heavy maintenance sites for several wide bodied aircraft such as the A380, with paint bays, workshops and offices.
The group owns the rights to stressed arch technology, a post tension system for steel buildings that covers clear spans of 60 to 300 meters. A subsidiary, ASI Heavy Lift, has the equipment to erect these structures and lift roofs of 100 to 6,000 tonnes.
Services are design and construction on a turnkey basis, project management, facility planning and finance with leaseback for approved clients. The site shows videos of projects, including HAECO Xiamen, ADAT Hangar 6 and a project at Phnom Penh airport, and has a careers page.
