Appraisal Services

AISI offers three ISTAT-defined appraisal types: desktop appraisals (sight-unseen valuations), extended desktop appraisals, and full appraisals including physical inspection and maintenance review. All appraisals include general market overview and specified market analysis for the asset type.

Half and full-life valuations establish base and current market values in theoretical half-life and full-life maintenance conditions. Maintenance adjusted valuations adjust half-life baseline values reflecting actual maintenance condition including airframe checks, landing gear overhauls, APU overhauls, engine overhauls, and LLP green time.

Valuation Data & Forecasting

AISI provides future value forecasting projecting base values until aircraft reach 25 years of age at client-specified inflation rates. Future lease rate forecasting establishes base and current market lease rates with forecasts until aircraft reach 25 years of age.

Lease encumbered value opinions assess aircraft value under lease with specified parameters and projected values. Part-out valuations determine aggregate component values for retired aircraft sold individually.

Specialized Financial Services

AISI provides valuations for Asset Backed Securitization (ABS) fleets pooled and collateralized in single debt securities. Enhanced Equipment Trust Certificate (EETC) valuations serve fleets operated by single entities pooled in collateralized debt securities. These specialized services support complex aviation financing structures and institutional transactions.

Appraisal Methodology

AISI appraisal methodology rests on three guiding principles ensuring accurate, reliable valuations. First, orderly value relationships exist among aircraft of a given type from year to year when all else is equal. Second, orderly value relationships exist between competitive aircraft of the same year when conditions are equivalent.

Third, values must be considered in context of all competing aircraft types rather than single aircraft types alone. These principles guide every appraisal supplemented by AISI's extensive database of historic sales numbers and performance trends.
