About Air India Express

Air India Express is an Indian airline that is part of the Tata group. The site calls it a Tata Enterprise. It runs more than 500 daily flights to 49 domestic and 16 international places across South, Southeast and West Asia.

The fleet has over 100 Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 aircraft. The site lists the Boeing 737-8 with LEAP-1B engines and room for up to 182 guests. It lists the Boeing 737-800 Next Generation with CFM56 engines and 189 guests. It also lists the Airbus A320neo with LEAP-1A engines and 186 guests, and the Airbus A320ceo with 180 guests.

Numbers on the about page show more than 100 aircraft, more than 60 destinations, more than 3,500 weekly departures and more than 180 routes.

The Tata group's aviation story began in 1932, when JRD Tata founded Tata Airlines. The airline later became Air India and was nationalised in 1956. The site says it returned to the Tata group in January 2022, along with Air India Express.

The product pages cover add-on packs, a fare lock that holds a fare for seven days, hot meals, extra baggage, special equipment, group booking, travel insurance, visa services and priority check-in. Special fares are listed for senior citizens, students and armed forces.

The airline says its loyalty program has over 22 million members. It has also joined the IATA Fly Net Zero plan for net zero emissions by 2050. The site offers flight search, manage booking, check-in and flight status tools, and it has a careers page.
