About AGM Container Controls

AGM Container Controls makes products that protect sealed containers and enclosures. They manage moisture, pressure, corrosion and shock. The products are used in aerospace, defense, industrial and logistics settings. They help keep sensitive equipment and cargo safe during use, storage and transport.

The pressure products include breather valves, filtered vents and immersion proof breathers. These let air move in and out to stop pressure or vacuum differences from causing damage. For moisture, AGM sells desiccants, desiccators and oxygen absorbers. Desiccants soak up water vapor. It also sells humidity indicator cards, plugs and electronic humidity indicators.

Dry gas purging is another line. The NEPS single point and through purge systems flow dry gas through a closed space and pressurize it. AGM says this gives a more thorough moisture purge than older dual point systems. Access ports, observation windows and records holders let users look inside or store papers without opening a sealed container.

Shock and corrosion are covered too. AGM offers Shockmaster shock indicators and Saver vibration recorders. These record the knocks that equipment takes in storage or transport. The company says they help with equipment design and with settling disputes between carriers and suppliers. VpCI products use vapor phase corrosion inhibitors, in paints, primers, coatings, paper and bags, to stop moisture and oxygen from corroding electronics and metals. AGM also offers military grade shelving and straps.

The company adds technical services. It has an in-house precision machine shop in Tucson, Arizona. It builds its own parts there and can build parts for customers. Its Hydra20 service uses its own software and long experience to work out long term moisture protection for a given project.

The history starts in 1955. Harrison Browning founded Arizona Gear and Manufacturing. It was the first company to design breather valves for Hughes Aircraft missile containers. In 1970, Roger and Joyce Stewart bought a branch of that company, which grew into AGM Container Controls.

AGM states that its main mission is to meet the needs of the nation's defense efforts. The company is employee owned. It also says it wants to help its employees and respond to needs in its local community. The website lists the product lines and technical services. It also has an example of how desiccants helped University of Arizona researchers.
