Aeolus Flight Academy

Aeolus Flight Academy is a flight school at London International Airport (CYXU) in London, Ontario. It was founded in October 2018 by Jacob Tousignant. The school trains private and commercial pilots and also offers flight tours and aerobatic rides to the public.

It is a Transport Canada flight training unit (FTU 5670) and is registered as a career college under the Ontario Career Colleges Act (campus 204052).

Training

• Private pilot licence, including night and multi-engine privileges later on
• Commercial pilot licence (needs a private licence, a Category 1 medical, a high school diploma and age 18 or over)
• Private pilot ground school, as a one-time group course or 1-on-1 sessions, with an online student portal
• Intro flights and gift certificates

The school lists its rates on its website. For the private pilot course a Cessna 172 is $215 an hour, a Cessna 152 or 150 is $195 an hour, and an instructor is $89 an hour. Commercial training rates are lower per hour. It notes that most people need more than the Transport Canada minimum of 45 hours to pass the private flight test, and that the Canadian average is around 75 hours.

Flight tours

Scenic and city tours fly over London, Toronto, Niagara Falls, Wasaga Beach, Port Stanley and other places you choose. Sunset flights and aerobatic rides with loops and rolls are also on the list.
