Above and Beyond Tasmania

Above and Beyond is a seaplane operator based at Kings Pier Marina on Hobart's waterfront in Tasmania. Using an amphibious Cessna 208 Caravan, it flies shared scenic flights, fly and dine trips, destination flights to remote lodges, bushwalker transfers and private charters. The company describes itself as Tasmania's only seaplane experience. It was founded by Henry and Gerald Ellis, and Pieter and Alice van der Woude took over in July 2024.

Fleet

The fleet centres on an amphibious Cessna 208 Caravan with a leather interior and seating for up to 10 passengers. The company quotes a cruise speed of 340 km/h and a range of over 1,200 km. Because it can land on water or land, it reaches beaches, rivers, lakes and private airstrips. Private bushwalker charters carry up to 8 walkers with packs, subject to weight and balance.
