TUI Launches Inaugural Flights to Luxor, Celebrating New Gateway to Egypt’s Historic Wonders
TUI UK has officially launched flights to Luxor, Egypt, marking an exciting addition to its holiday offerings for British travelers. The first flights took off from Manchester Airport and London Gatwick Airport (LGW), with passengers on board treated to chocolates and balloons to celebrate the occasion. Operating twice a week, these flights provide a direct link to Luxor, a city renowned for its rich history, awe-inspiring architecture, and proximity to the iconic Valley of the Kings.
As part of its Luxor expansion, TUI has tailored packages that include stays at eight carefully selected hotels in and around Luxor, such as the luxurious Hilton Luxor. Beyond land-based stays, the new flights align with TUI’s growing river cruise offerings, featuring a memorable journey along the Nile on the newly refurbished, five-star TUI Al Horeya.
A New Adventure on the Nile
The TUI Al Horeya offers a seven-night, all-inclusive river cruise experience from Luxor, giving travelers the opportunity to explore ancient cities and timeless landscapes along the Nile. The ship, which can accommodate 141 passengers across 72 cabins—including single, standard, and suite options—provides an intimate and immersive experience. This luxurious cruise is designed to give guests the perfect mix of exploration and relaxation, all while enjoying the premium amenities of a five-star vessel.
Katy Berzins, Head of TUI River Cruises, expressed her excitement about the launch: “We are thrilled to welcome our first passengers on board the TUI Al Horeya for a unique journey down the River Nile. This inaugural sailing and flight to Luxor mark the beginning of what we envision as a thriving river cruise line. Passengers can experience the wonders of ancient Egypt or soak up some winter sun at our TUI hotels in Luxor and nearby Hurghada.”
Connecting Travelers to Egypt’s Heritage
Manchester Airport’s Head of Aviation Business Development, Lucie Hinton, shared her enthusiasm about the new service: “We are delighted to see TUI launching this route to Luxor. This is Manchester’s first direct connection to Luxor, adding to our network of over 200 global destinations. It’s a fantastic opportunity for holidaymakers in the North to experience the fascinating history and culture of Egypt.”
Prices for TUI’s Nile cruises start at £1,785 per person, based on two adults sharing a Deck 2 Superior French Balcony cabin on the TUI Al Horeya, with an all-inclusive package that includes flights from London Gatwick.
With these new offerings, TUI continues to expand its travel options for UK holidaymakers, providing unique and unforgettable experiences in one of the world’s most historically rich regions.
