TLD Europe

TLD Europe is the French arm of TLD. The company designs, manufactures, distributes and supports aviation ground support equipment. The group traces its origins to a silk weaving workshop founded in Lyon in 1897. It created its ground support equipment division between 1990 and 1992. TLD Europe is part of the ALVEST group.

The TLD Europe factory is located in Sorigny in the Loire Valley. The site was built in 2014. It produces conventional and towbarless aircraft tractors. It also produces the TaxiBot dispatch towing vehicle. The Sorigny site covers 80,000 square metres of land. It contains 7,000 square metres of buildings. It is one of the largest industrial sites in the TLD group.

The company manufactures towbarless aircraft tractors in the TPX range. These include electric and hybrid models. It also manufactures conventional aircraft tractors in the TMX range. These include electric versions. TLD has worked on the TaxiBot programme since 2009. The group also offers the TractEasy autonomous electric baggage tractor.

The product range across the group includes passenger steps, cargo loaders and transporters, baggage tractors, belt loaders, trailers and dollies. It also includes ground power units, air starters, air conditioners, lavatory and water trucks, and maintenance platforms. The group supplies defense and government organizations. It constantly reviews its products to meet safety and environmental standards.

Customers include airlines, airports, cargo airlines, ground handlers and military organisations. The group operates factories in France, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Belgium, China and India. It maintains a worldwide sales and service network. The group follows a green program with a focus on eco friendly solutions. It provides diligent after sales support to customers around the world.

The group offers autonomous electric ground support equipment through its TractEasy vehicle. This is part of its program to create zero emission equipment. The company is a member of the UN Global Compact. It also partners with IATA and the Solar Impulse Foundation.
