The Forward Cabin

The Forward Cabin is a travel blog run by Jamie Larounis. He is a travel industry analyst and a loyalty programs educator. The blog covers trip reports, airline reviews, hotel reviews, train reviews, lounge reviews, and food and drink reviews.

Larounis started traveling with his family as a child. In high school he took a trip to Germany and the Czech Republic on a mileage ticket. He says that trip led him to prefer traveling in first class. In college, he planned his classes to make long weekends for travel.

He has spoken at Frequent Traveler University as part of its organizing staff. The site says he taught in depth about the loyalty programs of Amtrak, American Airlines and Kimpton Hotels. He is the resident expert on American Airlines at UpgradedPoints.com. He also gives consulting support to MeetSelect.com.

The blog has beginner guides for airlines, hotels, and miles and points. It has guides on award booking, airline contact information, fifth freedom routes and airline award charts. It also links to ExpertFlyer and a Travel Tips Facebook group.

The site offers award booking help and personal travel assistance for a low monthly fee. The site says it is part of an affiliate sales network. It says it receives compensation for sending traffic to partner sites, such as CreditCards.com.

The site has a contact page and a press page. Its social media accounts are on Facebook, X and Instagram.
