About TAT Technologies
TAT Technologies Ltd. is an aerospace company that works on thermal systems, auxiliary power units and landing gear. An auxiliary power unit, or APU, is a small engine that powers a plane while it is on the ground. The company makes parts and also repairs and overhauls them. Its customers include aircraft makers, airlines, maintenance organizations, air forces and defense agencies.
The company began in 1969 in Bnei-Brak, Israel. In 1973 its operations moved to Gedera, Israel. In 1989 it entered the commercial market. It started by making pre-coolers for Cessna Aircraft Co. A pre-cooler is a part that cools hot air taken from an engine.
TAT grew through a series of purchases. It bought Limco Co in 1993 and Piedmont Inc in 2005. In 2013 FIMI Opportunity Funds acquired TAT. The company bought Turbochrome Ltd in 2015. In 2018 four companies that ran on their own became one global company. In April 2025 TAT Limco, TAT Piedmont, TAT Israel and the Charlotte office joined under the single TAT Technologies brand.
The website lists heat management work for engines and aircraft. It also shows cooling systems made for newer designs, including eVTOL and hybrid-electric aircraft. An eVTOL is an electric aircraft that takes off and lands straight up. Universal cooling systems and engine thermal systems are also on the list.
In maintenance, repair and overhaul, or MRO, the site points to Honeywell certified APU service. It also describes the company as an authorized landing gear specialist, with overhaul work for Embraer. Other pages cover manufacturing services such as machining and plating. Flow components and engine components appear as well.
For defense customers, the site lists a ground environmental control unit and a 5 ton military unit. It also shows thermal components, maskant materials, and trading and leasing. The company says it helps partners run their thermal, APU and landing gear systems with confidence.
The website also has sections on the company profile, leadership, newsroom and careers. An investors area shows that TAT shares trade on NASDAQ and on the Tel Aviv exchange. Visitors can also find pages on capabilities, certifications and supplier information.
