About Summit Air

Summit Air is an airline in Nepal. It started operating as Goma Air on 24 February 2011. The airline flies to mountain and regional airports, and its website lets visitors book a flight and check a ticket status online.

The booking tool lists these airports: Bajura, Dolpa, Jomsom, Jumla, Kathmandu, Lukla, Nepalgunj, Pokhara, Ramechhap, Rara and Simikot. The site features destinations such as Jomsom, Dolpa, Rara, Pokhara, Lukla and Kathmandu. A customer quote on the site says the airline takes people to remote places that once took weeks to reach.

The fleet page describes the L410 UVP-E20. The aircraft seats 18 passengers and has a maximum take-off weight of 6600. It uses GE H80-200 engines of 800 SHP with an AVIA AV-725 propeller. The cockpit has weather radar, EGPWS, a flight data recorder, a cockpit voice recorder, a KFC325 autopilot and TCAS II. The text says the type meets FAR 23 Amendment 34 and has been accepted by EASA. It can be changed quickly from passengers to cargo.

Summit Air maintains its aircraft with its own maintenance organisation, approved by CAA Nepal under the number CAAN.145.009 and the NCAR 145 rules. Continued airworthiness is handled by an in-house Part M Subpart G organisation. Work outside its approval goes to outside firms approved under NCAR Part 145.

The management team on the site includes Manoj Karki as Managing Director, Prajwal Jung Rana as Engineering Director, Capt. Manish Pant as Operation Director and Capt. Binod Puri as Safety Director. The news section covers a Manang Airport test flight, training classes and an award plaque. A phone number is +977-1-4117523.
