Starwest Flight Academy

Starwest Flight Academy is a pilot training school in Accra, Ghana, approved by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) as an Approved Training Organisation. It has operated since 2008, when it was set up to supply pilots to its sister company, the domestic airline CiTylinK Ghana, and was formerly known as CTK Flight Academy. It trains students from Ghana and across West Africa, from first lesson to airline pilot licences.

Courses

• Private Pilot Licence: six months, 31 flying hours, 40 hours of theory and 10 simulator hours on the Cessna 172
• Commercial Pilot Licence with Instrument Rating: 12 months, 150 flying hours, 65 hours of theory and 30 simulator hours
• Instructor Rating: two months
• Multi-Engine Rating: two months on the Beechcraft Duchess and Baron
• Frozen Air Transport Pilot Licence

Ground school follows the Jeppesen syllabus, and PPL and CPL/IR students also get the Jeppesen online course. Payment for flight hours is made through a credit system after an initial deposit.
