Skythrills

Skythrills is an aerial entertainment company located in Lethbridge, Australia. The business has displayed for the public since its inception in 2010. It is owned and operated by one of Australia's most experienced aerobatic pilots. The company focuses on making events special with aerial performances.

Skythrills provides Australia's only aerial gender reveal service. Customers can surprise their guests with a personalized aerobatic display to announce a baby's gender. Both single aircraft and formation aerobatic displays are available for this service. The company can perform these displays anywhere in Australia. This option offers a memorable alternative to traditional gender announcements.

The company also conducts high energy aerobatic displays at private events. The display aircraft is a Soviet designed and built Yak-55. This aircraft is the only one of its type currently flying on the airshow circuit. The plane's agility allows it to perform complex maneuvers in front of crowds.

The team flies the Yak-55M, a single engine all metal cantilever monoplane. The aircraft was designed in the early 1980s by the Yakovlev design bureau for world aerobatic competition. It features a symmetrical wing section that aids inverted flight. The Yak-55 is powered by a 360 horsepower Vedeneyev M14P engine and has fixed undercarriage with titanium sprung main gear.

The original Yak-55 prototype first flew in May 1981. It was later redesigned with shorter wings to increase roll rate and speed. Series production of the original model began in 1985. The updated Yak-55M variant first flew in May 1989 and entered production in 1990. This improved model has an even smaller wing for higher roll rates.

Skythrills serves clients across Australia for private events and special occasions. The company aims to create memorable experiences that guests do not expect. Event organizers can contact the team to learn more about booking a display. The business welcomes inquiries from anyone seeking different aerial entertainment.
