About SARPA Air Ambulance

SARPA Air Ambulance is a Colombian air ambulance company, run by Servicios Aéreos Panamericanos SAS. It flies its own jet and turboprop aircraft, set up as intensive care units, to move critically ill adults, children and newborns.

Services

  • Air ambulance transfers, including ventilated patients, burns, patients with pacemakers, pregnancy and mother and baby transfers, isolated patients, trauma, brain conditions, children and newborns.
  • Health routes: groups of patients who do not need medical care in flight travel on passenger aircraft with a nurse, to reach tests or specialists and return home.
  • Medical escort: a doctor or nurse goes with stable patients on regular commercial airlines.
  • Transport of organs, surgical teams, special medicines and clinical material within Colombia.

The company also offers passenger and cargo charter and airport handling.

To ask for an ambulance flight, the site asks for the patient name, age, ID and condition, and the cities and hospitals involved.

Aircraft and bases

The fleet page lists two ambulance aircraft. One is a Learjet 45XR jet and the other is a Jetstream 32EP twin turboprop. Both are pressurized and carry two patients. A second Jetstream 32EP is listed for charter. The crews include anaesthetists, emergency doctors, paediatricians, neonatal doctors, nurses and respiratory therapists.

Facts

  • Accredited by EURAMI, the European Aeromedical Institute, in 2013 and again in 2017.
  • Call centre for ambulance, health routes and organ transport runs 24 hours a day.
  • The site says SARPA was the first South American company accredited by EURAMI for critical transport of adults, children and newborns.
  • Charter and airport handling use a separate sales line.
