About Powered Sport Flying Magazine

Powered Sport Flying Magazine is a print magazine about personal and sport aviation. It was formerly known as UltraFlight Magazine. The name changed in January 2010. It covers powered parachutes, powered paragliders, gyroplanes, ultralights and light sport aircraft.

UltraFlight began in 1994 and reported on aircraft types that did not get regular media attention at the time. It also ran the UltraFlight Radio Show from 2000 to 2011. The site says the magazine and its predecessor have nearly 25 years of experience in sport aviation reporting.

The magazine covers special features, aviation events such as AirVenture and Sun n Fun, and the National Biplane Fly-In. It has regular sections for news, the Sport Pilot Log, world records, a calendar of events, troop stories, classifieds and incident reports. It also has columns on safety and flying life.

The site says the magazine offers an independent voice on government regulation. It shares flying stories from people around the country and around the world. The site says it is one of the few magazines still read cover to cover by subscribers.

The site lists three affiliated groups. LAMA represents light aircraft manufacturers. PRA is the home of gyroplane and helicopter fans and holds an annual convention in Mentone, Indiana. USUA works on ultralight issues and Sport Pilot rules with LAMA.

The magazine offers subscriptions, renewals and advertising. The site lists the phone number 1-800-867-5430. It has links to Facebook and X, and a page of past issues.
