About Harpy Aerospace
Harpy Aerospace Private Limited is an Indian space technology startup based in Chennai. It builds small satellites with artificial intelligence on board. The site also has pages for drones, small satellites and satellite services.
The company wants to make space missions smarter and cheaper. Its core product is a modular CubeSat bus that ranges from 1U to 27U. The bus carries 40 to 60 TOPS of onboard AI processing. Communications use UHF, with S-band as an option. The company says this reduces the need for ground control.
The Harpy CubeSat bus joins several parts. These are edge AI computing for image recognition and anomaly detection, scalable solar arrays and smart power systems, and rugged avionics built on radiation aware parts. The avionics use a fault tolerant real time operating system and standard interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART, CAN and LVDS.
The company sets out a roadmap. It planned a flight model of the CubeSat bus and a UHF IoT beacon demonstration by 2025. It aims to show edge AI on orbit by 2026. From 2027 to 2030 it plans operating constellations, and by 2035 it hopes for a hosted payload marketplace.
The satellite services page says the company provides space imagery and analytics. The company says it works with ISRO ecosystem partners, universities and industry. It also talks with groups in aviation, maritime and disaster response.
