About HAPS Alliance

The HAPS Alliance is an industry association for high altitude platform stations, known as HAPS. These platforms operate in the stratosphere, above air traffic and weather. The alliance unites companies from the telecommunications, technology, aviation and aerospace industries.

The site says the alliance's mission is to open the stratosphere for connectivity and sensing services for civilian and government use. It works to speed up the adoption of HAPS technology. It does this through industry standards, interoperability guidelines and regulatory policies.

The alliance says it works on four areas. These are commercial adoption, cross industry collaboration, safety and regulatory advocacy, and thought leadership and education. It works with telecom and aviation regulators to build a safe ecosystem.

The site lists goals for telecom and aviation. On telecom, the alliance advocates for global harmonization of HAPS spectrum at the ITU and national level. On aviation, it promotes industry managed cooperative separation in the upper airspace.

The site has pages for members, leadership, membership types and benefits, working groups and a membership FAQ. It also has news, media coverage, press releases, events, a blog, podcasts, a pitch deck and publications.

The site has a contact form and a LinkedIn page. Visitors can also join a mailing list from the site.
