About Glydways

Glydways is a company building an autonomous transit system. The system uses self-driving vehicles on dedicated guideways. The company calls its vehicles Glydcars. The site says the system gives riders a direct, on-demand ride that bypasses traffic.

The company says its system can carry 10,000 people per hour at scale. It says the system costs 90 percent less to build than other transit modes. It also says the system costs about 30 percent as much to operate. These are claims made on the company's own site.

The site lists projects in Atlanta, Contra Costa and San Jose. A news item says the Dubai Glydways system started a trial operation at Bluewaters in October 2026. Another item says an autonomous system is planned for Atlanta near the airport.

The company raised a $170 million Series C round in April 2026. The site says the round was oversubscribed. It says the first autonomous vehicle networks will enter public operation in 2026.

The company was founded by Mark Seeger, who is co-chief executive and founder. Blake Barber is co-chief executive and chief technology officer. Barber's experience includes work at MIT Lincoln Laboratory and Lockheed Martin. Seeger's earlier work includes NASA and Apple.

The site has company, news, project and media pages. It has a media kit and a contact form for cities that want the system. The site also lists LinkedIn, YouTube and X accounts.
