About General Atomics Europe

General Atomics Europe is a group of companies with three main fields. These are aviation, infrastructure and sustainability. The group runs several business units, and a head office supports them with management and business matters. This page focuses on the aviation side.

General Atomics AeroTec Systems builds and services the Dornier Do228 aircraft. It is developing the next generation of the aircraft, called the Do228 NXT. The aim is to continue the plane's record and offer it to customers worldwide. The unit is also a service site for NH90 helicopters, offering maintenance, repair and overhaul, known as MRO.

A site in Oberpfaffenhofen serves business jets. The group describes it as a single stop in the middle of Europe. Services there include MRO, upgrades and paint work. Military helicopters are also serviced at the same location.

GA PrecisionTech Europe makes parts for the aviation industry. It builds single parts, assemblies and prototypes in small batches. It also makes parts for related industries.

In infrastructure, the group works on rail, road and water projects. It builds, upgrades and services rail vehicles, including track work and maintenance vehicles. It offers special construction services. It also makes engineered reinforced concrete parts that arrive ready to install. A rail engineering and service company and a property rental business are part of the same area.

In sustainability, the group works on recycling and the circular economy. This means reusing materials so they are not wasted. The work covers industrial processes, technology metals and electric mobility. Specialists recycle electric batteries, ammunition and hazardous materials in a safe way. Other units build plants for biogas, pilot projects and laboratories, and work on water technology and mineral raw materials.

The group also runs an accredited analytical laboratory in Lubbenau, in the Spreewald area of Germany. It tests water and solid materials, including drinking water. Another unit stores and handles ammunition, explosive items, hazardous waste and lithium ion batteries. The website, which is in German, describes each business unit.
