Dorval Aviation

Skynova Aviation is a family owned flight school that serves the Montreal area. The school has provided flight training for more than 20 years. It operates from Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu Airport, where the professional airport environment helps students reach a higher level of accomplishment.

The Private Pilot License program prepares students to act as pilot in command of an aircraft with one engine under visual flight rules. Graduates may carry passengers and fly outside the country, but they cannot fly for compensation or hire. This license is the foundation for recreational pilots who want to explore aviation.

The Commercial Pilot License program allows graduates to fly for compensation or hire during day or night under visual flight rules. The school also offers Ratings and Specialty Training, including night flying, instrument ratings, and multi engine operations. These courses help pilots expand their qualifications and improve their skills.

The Multi-IFR program trains students in aircraft with more than one engine equipped with advanced avionics. Training takes place in controlled airspace at Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu Airport, providing efficient access to real-world instrument approaches without lengthy travel. The school also runs the SKYFAST accelerated program, which guarantees a private pilot license in 45 hours of flight time.

Ground school classes take place in person two evenings per week from 6 pm to 9 pm, with new sessions starting four times per year. An online self paced ground school option is also available. The facility includes a large and quiet classroom for group study and smaller rooms for individual ground instruction.

Beyond flight training, Skynova Aviation offers recreational aviation experiences. These include the Montreal Aerial City Tour, Pilot for a Day, and a Flight Proficiency Package. These services let non-pilots and families enjoy flight over the Montreal region.

The school is certified by Transport Canada. Instructors are assigned a reasonable number of students each and receive supervision from experienced professionals. Training plans are adapted to each candidate's prior experience and objectives, whether the goal is a private license, a rating, or a complete commercial course.
