Derazona Helicopters

PT. Derazona Air Service, known as Derazona Helicopters, is a utility helicopter operator that has served Indonesia since 1971. The company was originally incorporated as a limited liability company under foreign capital investment. It later became a domestic capital company in 1985. In 2001, it returned to foreign capital investment status, and by 2010 its shareholders included PT Boedihardjo Investama and PT Tata Upadi Pratama. The company holds Air Operator Certificate 135-010 and operates as part of the Boedihardjo Group. It has built a record spanning more than 50 years supporting aerial missions across the Indonesian archipelago.

The fleet includes the Airbus AS350 B3e (H125), a single engine helicopter built in the United States that carries a pilot plus five or six passengers. The H125 is powered by a Turbomeca Arriel 2D engine and offers fast cruise speeds and a high useful load. The company also operates the Bell 412SP, which can seat up to 13 passengers in a spacious cabin with wide opening doors for forklift loading. These aircraft support passenger transport, survey work, cargo lift, and emergency response.

Derazona provides offshore and onshore passenger flights, crew change transport, and offshore medivac services for the oil and gas sector. The company also conducts seismic survey support, airborne magnetic surveys, and laser topographical surveys. Aerial photography and filming missions are supported with handheld cameras or rigged devices, and the company has provided aerial support for BBC and other international television agencies filming in Indonesia. Proper permits and clearances are required prior to these flights.

External cargo and long line sling load operations move bulky equipment that cannot fit inside the cabin, including rig moves. Fire fighting missions use bambi buckets to drop water on forest fires. Medivac flights are equipped with stretcher kits to transfer injured persons from remote locations to hospitals. The company also performs power cable stringing, communication tower installation, VIP flights, gold mining support, and disaster relief.

The company has flown missions throughout Indonesia, from filming surfers among the Mentawai islands to supporting seismic activities deep in the jungles of Papua.
