CubePilot

CubePilot makes hardware and embedded software for civilian unmanned systems. The company is based in Norlane, Victoria, Australia. Its Cube autopilot range is the core of the product line. Carrier boards and accessories built around it come from the community and from industry partners. CubePilot says open source and community are the heart of what it does.

The Cube Orange+

The Cube Orange+ is the newest Cube, and CubePilot calls it the most advanced one yet. It is described as a redundant, temperature controlled and isolated autopilot.

• Processor: an STM32H757 with a 400 MHz Cortex M7 core and a 200 MHz Cortex M4 core, plus 2 MB of flash and 1 MB of RAM.
• Failsafe: a separate STM32F100 co-processor that handles CPU failsafe.
• Sensors: a triple redundant IMU system. The later configuration uses two ICM42688 chips and an ICM45686.
• Stable readings: the IMU is temperature stabilised and isolated from vibration.
• Software: fully supported by ArduPilot and PX4.
• Signal level: PWM output can be switched from 3.3 V to 5 V with a parameter change.

Carrier boards and ADS-B

CubePilot sells the Cube on a carrier board that suits the job. One carrier board has a 1090 MHz ADS-B receiver from uAvionix. A vehicle with it can see the position of crewed aircraft nearby, and ArduPilot can use that data for avoidance. CubePilot also offers its Autopilot-on-Module design, which lets customers order carrier boards made for a specific application.

Vehicles and other products

The Cube supports helicopters, multicopters, fixed wing aircraft, VTOL, rovers, boats and submarines. Beyond the autopilot, the company lists accessories, GPS denied position hold and precise RTK positioning. Its documentation site also covers Herelink, the Here GNSS modules and a US defence page. Some products carry a Manufactured in USA label.
