Cox Manufacturing Company

Cox Manufacturing Company is a precision screw machine shop in San Antonio, Texas. It produces custom CNC screw machined parts and precision turned and milled bar products in high volumes for aerospace, defense, medical, electronics, automotive, firearm and oil field customers. The company began in 1956 with rented space and one Swiss automatic screw machine and is now a third-generation business, led by President and CEO Bill Cox.

Products and materials

Standard product families include screw machined pins and retractable pins. Cox machines aluminum, brass, copper, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steels, titanium and special high temperature alloys, as well as plastics such as Delrin, PEEK and Ultem. The company says it keeps a warehouse of material inventory.

Aerospace and defense work

Cox lists aerospace, aircraft, defense and military machining among its industries. Its customers include programs for missile systems, radar, drones, military and passenger aircraft systems and satellites. The company is ITAR registered and complies with DFARS material sourcing requirements. It has produced a missile retention system component for Lockheed Martin since 2010.
