About Badr Airlines

Badr Airlines is a private airline based in Sudan. It was set up in 2004 and is registered under the Sudanese Companies Act of 1925. The airline mainly flies passengers and cargo. It also runs VIP charter flights from time to time.

The company holds an Air Operator Certificate. This is the licence that lets an airline fly for money. The certificate follows the Air Act of 1999 and the Air Navigation Regulations, which build on guidance from the International Civil Aviation Organization. It covers small, large and heavy aircraft, for both passengers and cargo.

Badr Airlines has served government and private customers on regular and charter services. It has also taken part in air relief projects in the south and west of Sudan. It has supported national oil development projects too. The airline gained experience planning and running flights for a peace keeping mission.

Humanitarian cargo is a large part of the work. The airline carries aid for WFP, UNICEF, MSF, FAO and the Red Cross. It covers most locations in Sudan, including short take off and landing operations, which suit small airstrips. At the start of 2005, it began daily passenger and cargo flights between Khartoum and Wau.

For around three years, Badr Airlines was the official passenger and cargo carrier for the Joint Military Commission in the Nuba Mountains. This gave it experience with many kinds of operations. It also learned how to run large support operations across Sudan.

The airline recently added two Boeing 737-500 aircraft to its fleet. These support the growing market for domestic and regional passenger flights. The website lists destinations in Sudan and abroad, including Addis Ababa, Kano, Juba, Dubai, Cairo and Jeddah. Local points include Port Sudan, Kassala, El Obeid, Damazin, El Fashir and Nyala.

The website lets visitors manage bookings, see the timetable and read about offers. It also has pages on charter flights, cargo services and medical and special needs travel. Travel agencies can register on the site. The site is offered in English and Arabic.
