Atacama Copter

Atacama Copter is a helicopter company that began in the Atacama Region of Chile to serve aerial work in the north of the country and beyond. Its stated aim is to provide a timely transfer in emergencies and to shorten travel times for people and materials that industry needs to move. It operates from its own helipad in Paipote, Copiapo.

Services

• Engineering and civil works: logistic support, tower construction, foundations and installation of communication antennas
• Mining and geology: exploration, geological and geophysical studies, reconnaissance, topography, magnetometry and logistics, using an Airbus AS350 B3 suited to high mountain work
• External and special cargo: remote load hook, cargo net and concrete containers
• Frost control and drying for vineyards and other agriculture
• Executive transfers to remote and hard to reach places
• Air medical service: a helicopter crewed by a pilot and specialised medical staff, covering evacuations in urban areas and the mountains, vertical rescue, patient transfers, search for incidents and safety drills at work sites, available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
• Tourism, photography and filming, with a cabin giving more than 180 degrees of visibility

Helipad and base

Atacama Copter has its own helipad with the aeronautical code SHHO, granted by the Chilean civil aviation authority for 24 hour operation. It is in the Holvoet Industrial Park on the Camino Internacional, kilometre 6, in the Paipote sector of Copiapo. The base also houses its maintenance centre.
