About Apian

Apian is a healthcare logistics company that uses autonomous drones and ground robots. The site calls it physical AI infrastructure for healthcare. Its aim is to remove clinical delay by moving items such as blood, prescriptions and samples faster than people can.

The company says it delivers for Europe's largest employer and orchestrates the work of drone companies in complex airspace. It names Wing, Matternet and Zipline as drone partners that its platform connects to. It also links to several electronic health record systems and laboratory information systems. The ground robots carry blood.

The site gives its history. It says it flew the world's first chemotherapy flight in 2021. It made the first UK blood pack and prescription deliveries. It says it has run routine operations since 2024.

The team includes seven NHS doctors, three RAF air traffic controllers, former Google staff, robotics engineers and policy experts.

Apian explains the need with numbers. It points to a shortage of 11 million healthcare workers worldwide by 2030, productivity that is 20 percent lower than before the pandemic, and more than 30 billion pathology tests a year. It says 25 percent of clinical time goes on logistics rather than care. The company claims that a task taking 30 minutes and seven people today can take two minutes and no people in future.
