About AME CET - An Entrance Exam

AME CET stands for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Common Entrance Test. The site describes it as a national level entrance exam in India that leads to admission at aviation institutes, colleges and universities. It is aimed at students who want a career in flying, maintenance or airport operations.

Students can use the exam to apply for many courses. The list includes pilot licence training, aircraft maintenance engineering under DGCA and under EASA, aeronautical engineering and aerospace engineering. It also lists degrees such as BBA in Aviation and B.Sc. Aeronautical, plus diplomas and certificates in cabin crew, airport management and ground staff work. The site names approvals by the DGCA, UGC, AICTE and EASA, and shows Skill India for the certificates.

AME CET runs the exam for partner institutes and offers admission based on the All India Rank. It also gives scholarships of up to 100 percent, based on the rank. The site says it guides students toward the course that fits their interests and strengths.

On eligibility, candidates must be between 14 and 28 years old at admission and may sit the exam three times. Pilot and DGCA AME courses ask for 12th grade in physics, chemistry and maths. EASA AME and diplomas ask for 10th grade.
