Altitude Air

Altitude Air is a helicopter operator headquartered in Sinamangal, Kathmandu, Nepal. The company says it obtained its operating licence in August 2015 and began services in October 2016. It operates within the regulations of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal and runs a safety management system.

The company operates two brand new Airbus H125 helicopters, which it describes as equipped with advanced technology for high altitude work. Its own maintenance organisation keeps the aircraft in good condition. The company also lists pilots with their flying hours, along with engineering, quality and management teams.

Scenic and tour flights are a key service. Packages include the Everest scenic flight, a Gosaikunda tour and a Langtang and Kyanjin Village tour. The Langtang tour leaves from Kathmandu Domestic Airport and flies past high peaks above 5,000 metres. It lands at Kyanjin Gompa at 3,870 metres, where guests can have breakfast. Oxygen cylinders are carried on the high altitude flights.

Private helicopter charter and high altitude flights cover the Himalaya. The company also runs rescue operations, including long line work. Its listed missions include a rescue of a Nepali climber at Mt Himlung Camp II, and a long line rescue of a Japanese climber from the Lobuche Peak area.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the company says it transported patients, medical supplies and cargo. Its work has included collaboration with international agencies such as the World Bank and National Geographic, along with Bollywood production studios and government agencies.
