About Aethrone Aerospace

Aethrone Aerospace is a deep technology start-up from India. It began at the Startup Incubation and Innovation Centre at IIT Kanpur. The company designs, develops, makes and supports mission systems, platforms and parts for the aerospace and defence sector.

Design and development is a main service. The company offers model based systems engineering, which uses digital models to plan complex products. This covers work from design optimization through prototyping, testing and certification support. It aims to qualify designs to international codes and military standards.

The company uses its own aerodynamic and structural design, analysis and optimization methods. These include computer aided design and flow simulation. For quick prototypes and tests, it works with industry partners. Its design services also cover feasibility studies, product upgrades, support for older products and smart test rigs.

Parachutes are another focus. The company designs, builds, tests and certifies parachutes and related airspace products. It says it wants to be a segment leader in India. It also makes launch and recovery systems for drones and lighter than air systems. Its ready made launchers suit drones from 10 kg to 30 kg. They are portable and need little maintenance.

In composites, the company makes rotary propulsion parts and key aero structure members. It uses out of autoclave methods, which cure parts without a large pressure oven. Its tooling can handle parts up to 5 m long. It also lists precision manufacturing and advanced manufacturing among its services.

The company works on aerial robotics too. Its news section mentions a drone developed for the Indian Navy. It also mentions drones designed to help rescue people in waterlogged areas. The company says it can handle product qualification, integration, testing, certification, IP transfer and long term support.

The website lists each service area and shows news items. It also has an open roles page for people who want to join the design team, and a contact form for questions.
