About Aberdair Aviation

Aberdair Aviation is a pan-African aviation group. The founding company was incorporated in Kenya in 2002. The group now works across sub-Saharan Africa and beyond. It operates fixed wing and helicopter aircraft and also offers maintenance, sales and consultancy services.

The company provides long term contract aviation and short term charter flights. Its contract work covers the resource, government, humanitarian and peacekeeping sectors. The site says the work often takes place in challenging and austere environments.

The company also offers special missions, medical evacuations, aerial firefighting, airborne survey, emergency evacuation, oil spill response, aerial photography and filming, and VIP flights.

The company operates from two main AOC bases, in Kenya and Ghana. The site says it has run contracts in over 30 African countries and in Iraq and Singapore.

The site says Freddie Wilcox set up Autair Helicopters East Africa in Nairobi in the late 1960s. Autair was the Bell Helicopter agent in East Africa for over 30 years. Aberdair was started by Freddie and Adrian Wilcox. Its operator certificate was issued in May 2006, and helicopter operations were added in 2011.

The company says it follows a safety and quality management system that meets national and international standards.

The company has offices in Nairobi, Kenya, Accra, Ghana and Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Kenya office is at Wilson Airport in Nairobi. The site lists phone numbers for each office and has pages for general, charter and contract inquiries.
