How empty legs work

What is an empty leg?
A flight a private aircraft has to make without passengers: going to collect a client, returning home after a one-way trip, or moving to a maintenance base. Operators sell the seats on that flight, usually for the whole aircraft, often well below the usual charter price because the aircraft is flying anyway.
How much does an empty leg cost?
The price covers the whole aircraft, not a seat. 789 of the 2,237 flights on this page show a price; the others are priced on request by the operator. Taxes, de-icing and catering can be extra, so confirm the full price before you book.
Can the date or route change?
Yes. An empty leg exists because of another booking, so if that trip moves, the empty leg moves or is cancelled, sometimes at short notice. Keep a backup plan, or book a regular one-way charter if your date cannot change.
