Boeing and Lufthansa Technik have extended their Tailored Parts Package agreement by three years. The two companies announced it at the MRO Europe trade fair, and Aviation.Direct reported it on 30 October 2026.

What the agreement covers

The package covers more than 6,500 specific part numbers. They fit all the civil Boeing models in the Hamburg-based maintenance company's portfolio. The goal is to keep spare parts available for daily flight operations. It should also make buying material easier to plan for airlines around the world.

Under the agreement, Boeing Global Services runs the operations and logistics for the parts named in the contract. Lufthansa Technik plugs that supply straight into its own global component supply for airline customers.

Why the parts side matters

William Ampofo, Vice President at Boeing Global Services, and Thomas Böttger, Head of Procurement at Lufthansa Technik, both say the direct link to the manufacturer's supply chain should shorten buying routes. They also expect it to prevent bottlenecks in critical aircraft components.

The extension comes at a hard time for the industry. Material shortages, supplier delays and rising logistics costs have lasted for years. Boeing's contract-backed stock is meant to cut unplanned downtime for customer fleets. Airlines that fly Boeing aircraft get access to one standard buying network through their maintenance provider.
