The Gulfstream G280 is a super midsize jet built by Israel Aerospace Industries for Gulfstream. It carries up to ten passengers and flies about 3,600 nautical miles. It can also use short runways and is certified for steep approaches.
Gulfstream and Israel Aerospace Industries began designing a follow on to the G200 in 2005. The new jet was first called the G250 and launched in 2008. It first flew on 11 December 2009 in Tel Aviv. In July 2011 it was renamed the G280. It received full certification from Israel and the United States on 4 September 2012.
Compared with the G200, the G280 has a new larger wing, a longer cabin, a new T-tail and more powerful Honeywell HTF7250G engines. Israel Aerospace Industries builds the fuselage, tail and landing gear, and the aircraft is assembled in Israel. It then goes to Dallas, Texas, for interior work and paint. In 2025 Gulfstream unveiled an updated version called the G300, which first flew on 5 December 2025.
Private owners and corporate flight departments fly the G280. By June 2025, about 300 had been built.

The cabin is 25 ft 10 in long, 6 ft 11 in wide and 6 ft 1 in high, and has 19 large oval windows. Gulfstream offers layouts seating up to ten passengers, and the cabin can sleep up to five.
The galley sits at the front and the lavatory at the back. The baggage compartment holds 120 cu ft and can be reached from the cabin. The cabin altitude is 4,800 ft when flying at 41,000 ft.

The G280 competes with the Bombardier Challenger 350 and the Embraer Legacy 500. Gulfstream lists a longer range than Bombardier's 3,200 nm for the Challenger 350, though the two makers use different passenger loads.
